Light house in Amatciems
House of Light in Amatciems is a house project whose architectural design creates a close connection between the living space, the forest and the water landscape. Wooden decoration, extensive glazing and a terrace by the pond create a peaceful, close-to-nature living environment. Studio Amatciems designs and implements houses - from the idea to the finished dwelling.
Architecture and landscape
In the project visualizations, the volume of the house fits into the forest landscape. The vertical wooden decoration resonates with the surrounding tree trunks, while the dark gable roof complements the restrained image of the building. Reflections from the pond and natural coastal vegetation form part of the character of the house's surroundings.
Light and connection with the outdoors
The extensive glazing opens up views of the water and the forest. The terrace along the facade of the house continues the living space outdoors, but in the interior view, wooden surfaces, light textiles and shadows created by shutters create a warm atmosphere.
